What types of connections can I monitor with Spotlight Cloud? What are the requirements?
Spotlight Cloud can monitor a SQL Server instance, its host and associated virtualization server all under the one license.

Are the monitoring metrics updated in real-time and can I view a history of the monitoring metrics?
The Heatmap and Spotlight Overview pages are updated in real time (Auto Refresh ON). The Alarms page is not updated once the screen is drawn (Auto Refresh OFF). Some drilldown pages are updated in real-time, some show data over a defined time span, some can show historical data. Refer to the top right corner of the monitoring page for more information.

|Next to Auto Refresh is a button that you can click to switch Auto Refresh ON or OFF. For some pages like this one you cannot turn Auto Refresh off. Data is real time only.|
Does Spotlight Cloud raise an alarm when monitoring values fall outside their normal range of values? Can I configure the default thresholds as per my needs?

How is data collected from monitored servers?
During setup the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server is installed locally on your network. The Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server retrieves data from monitored connections using your network. The Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server uses the Internet to send this data to Spotlight Cloud for analysis and display.
