Internet access and always-on availability

Consider installing the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server application on a host server with an always-on internet connection. Spotlight Cloud cannot monitor your connections while the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server host server is switched off or otherwise unable to access the internet.

If Windows Firewall is set up to block traffic by default then in Windows Firewall | Advanced Settings add new outbound rules to enable the following URLs on TCP port 443:

2 cores 7GB 2GB 50 50
4 cores 14GB 4GB 100 100

For a high load on the monitored instances

Host CPUs (2.4GHz) Host RAM Hard Drive Space DS JVM Settings #DB Connections #OS Connections
2 cores 7GB 565MB 2GB 40 40
4 cores 14GB 580MB 4GB 80 80

Network ports

Ensure the following Network ports are open on the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server host

  • TCP 3166 - This port is used by the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server to communicate with the Spotlight Native Collector process on the same host. No external connections are required on this port.
