Operating system version
Spotlight Cloud can connect to the following Windows Server versions:
- Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit), however as this operating system is deprecated, WMI issues will no longer be investigated by support.
Additional requirements
- Ensure the Windows Server is in a domain. Spotlight Cloud cannot connect to Windows Servers in a workgroup.
- Enable the network setting “File and Print Sharing”.
- Configure any firewall to open TCP Port 135.
- Ensure Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is operational. Spotlight Cloud collects data through WMI.
